Cubana at Waterloo turns into a great Salsa club late on Fridays and Saturdays when we have a fine line up of live Cuban Salsa and Latin music!

Our bands and soloists include the brilliant Salsa dance and Latin Jazz band Riamba, Miguel Barcelo,  Latin Dimension, Salsabor and Nana y la Esencia.

On other nights we also have live music and DJs.

Entry is free on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays – on Fridays and Saturdays, entry is free up to 11pm with a £5 per person charge after that (please see below for our events & music calendar).

At our venue at Smithfield we also have live Salsa on Thursdays and Fridays from 8.30pm

Carlos Miguel & The Latin Dimension

Carlos Miguel is a Latin singer based in the UK and now appears frequently at Cubana. Carlos was born in Santiago de Cuba and his musical career started in 1999 singing boleros and ballads as a solo artist. Carlos then joined his tropical salsa band, the Latin Dimension, and his repertoire includes timba, merengue, cumbia, son and much more. Over the last four years Carlos has been playing and taking part in the most successful Latin events in the UK, including the Latin Salsa at the Electric Theatre and this year he has been invited by Rene Alvarez and his Cuban Combination to perform at Ronnie Scott’s and Glastonbury Festival. Carlos will be singing solo on Sundays at Cubana and will be playing some weekends with the Latin Dimension, please check our music calendar for details!

Nana Y La Esencia

Nana Y La Esencia, headed by the powerful vocals of Nana Clara, are a group of seasoned musicians playing Cuban dance music combining salsa, timba, rumba, son and much more. Esencia means “essence” in Spanish and together they encapsulate the essence of London and the Latin scene in London. This daring group of musicians are ready to hit the stage and get the audience up and dancing non-stop. Nana y La Esencia met on London’s vibrant Latin scene and the band’s members have performed across the UK and internationally at events including Glastonbury, WOMAD, Big Chill and Secret Garden Festivals and have shared the stage with artists as diverse as Concha Buika, Calle 13, Lilly Allen and others. They are not only a pleasure to watch and listen to, this band will have you swinging your hips in no-time.

Salsabor

Salsabor are a prodigious group of diverse and talented musicians that emerged from the unions of different Latin upbringings. They unleash the exotic passion and fire of the Latin American music through their energetic performances and cover a range of styles from Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, to Bachata, Latin Pop and R&B. www.jlmusiq.com
